Recruits are welcomed from all walks of life. We have an active private FB group, two chat groups, and a welcome pack for those interested in joining us. We can help with advice and guidance in regards uniform, equipment and muskets, and we are sometimes able to supply a loan uniform for those wishing to try out a weekend with us.
Being one of several units that form the American Civil War Society UK, we share the benefits of being part of a bigger group, including public liability insurance and having other units to fight against. ACWS includes both US and CS units, including infantry, artillery, cavalry, and non-combatant living history.
Camping is by canvas A frame, or you can stay in the plastic camp (modern tents, campers, caravans etc…). All we ask is a willingness to learn and participate as much as feasible. We are particularly keen on those whom are willing to learn about the war from the southern perspective.
